Facts about glass
Single Pane Glass Replacement
Single pane glass repair that is not required by code to be safety tempered can be replaced on the same visit. Our technicians carry sheets of glass on our special glass transport vehicles to cut glass on site. If your single pane glass is required to be safety tempered by code we offer board up services to secure your opening and then order your safety tempered glass. Tempered glass is first cut to your custom size and then placed in a tempering oven. Once a piece of glass is tempered it can no longer be fabricated or cut. The lead time on receiving tempered glass is 2 to 3 days. Tempered glass is about 5 to 8 times more resistant to breakages and if it does break the glass breaks into small pieces that will not cause severe lacerations unlike non tempered glass which will produce large pieces which could cause severe or life threatening injuries.
Dual Pane Glass
Dual pane glass is comprised of two sheets of glass separated by an air space to provide energy efficient windows. Dual pane glass can be both tempered or non tempered based on building code. Some dual pane windows contain argon gas in the air space to increase energy efficiency and decorative grid patterns between the glass. Our technicians our trained to match and identify all the features of your window glass to replace with the same level or higher energy efficiency. Depending on the amount of features your dual pane window has the lead time is 2 to 5 days.
Emergency Board Up Services
We are available 24 Hours a day to provide board up services. We will clean and dispose of broken glass, measure and order replacement glass, and finally secure your opening so you are safe and secure while you wait for your glass order to be fabricated and installed. We have at least 1 or 2 technicians who remain on call after normal business hours to respond to your emergencies.
